Project Name:  PEACE EXPLORERS - Albania focus

Dates:  Now through May 30, 1997

Purpose:  Students learn about the causes of conflict in Albania and
elsewhere as well as peaceful solutions such as democratic elections.
Using the Think Global web site at http://www.thinkglobal.org, students
complete a Conflict Report on Albania (or other locations listed on the
site) and post their reports to the Conflict Reports Archive with the name
of their school.

Subjects:  Current events, world geography, social studies, conflict
resolution, civics.

Grade levels:  7-12

Number of participatns:  Unlimited

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Read and print out the Conflict Report Form on the web site.
2. Ask students to work in groups and complete a report about Albania, OR
ANY OTHER conflict (see list on web site).
3. Use resources on the site for world news and readings in President Jimmy
Carter's book for young people on resolving international conflicts,
"Talking Peace"
4. Individual classes file a Conflict Report on the web site at
http://www.thinkglobal.org
5. Reports are posted to the Conflict Report Archive with the name of the
school.
