AGTK 97155: Schulprojekt. 20.06.97 ***Internet Project*** Write and Illustrate a Children's Story Grades Kindergarten - Grade 6 TIMELINE: September 22, 1997 - Completion SUBJECTS: Art, Technology, Language Arts, Gifted and Talented Education ***Purpose: & Summary*** This project will promote the artwork and creativity of students from Grades Kindergarten to Grades 6. Registered classes will work together to write a 23 page children's story. Upon registration, classes will be assigned to write one of the pages for the Story. The way this project works is, as each class writes their page of the story, they will submit their page to me and I will forward the page to the other 23 classes. These classes will then have their students illustrate their assigned page and decide on which illustration to submit from their class. The tale will be published with the student's illustrations on the World Wide Web. I will also produce a booklet of the whole story for the 23 registered classes. ***Media*** In order to maintain consistency in terms of the Media being used within the story and to scan the illustrations successfully: Students from Kindergarten to Grade Six will use: - Pencil crayons. - Illustrations should be on 8 1/2 x 11 paper or -any computer paint program, e.g. Kid Pix. REGISTRATION: Include the following information: Teacher's Name: Grade level: School Name: Town/City: State/Province: Country: email address: School Telephone Number: Special Notes: *This project is open to all students, schools and countries. *Mandatory: This project is open to Grades Kindergarten to Grade 6 and since this is your primary audience, please ensure that the content in your pages are appropriate so that all classes involved in this project will be able to read and enjoy. *If for some reason (e.g. school activities, etc.) you are unable to submit your page when it is your turn, please let me know a.s.a.p and I will reschedule you to another page/part of the story that is suitable to you. *I will ask registered participants to check their email frequently during this project. Twice a week minimum so as to ensure continuity of the story. Consideration needs to be given to the large number of students in each of the registered classes to ensure that we don't disappoint them by delayed paragraphs. *Timeline: I'm hoping that each class will take less than a week to write and submit their paragraphs/pages. The illustrations can be worked on and submitted at a later date at the class' convenience. I will create a Home Page where I will post the pages and illustrations as they are submitted so that you can track the storys development. *I will email each of the registered participants during the first week of September regarding which week you have been assigned. I'll be away on summer holidays during July and August. I'll begin responding to your email on my return August 18/97. I look forward to working with you. *I will be presenting the "Story Writing Project" - another project I coordinate at a Technology Conference in Shelbina, Missouri, U.S.A. during the week of October 4 - 7/97 so I'm letting you know in advance that I'll respond and continue the project on my return. *I will produce a copy of the story in booklet form for each registered Class at the conclusion of this project. ***Project Coordinator*** Please e-mail (if your school has a color scanner) or snail mail entries to Project Coordinator listed below: Deborah L.
