WinSpace brings true FVWM to Windows and gives all users the feeling of a much bigger monitor. WinSpace 2.0 creates a virtual desktop surface in memory that extends beyond the edges of the monitor screen into virtual space. Open windows can be moved off the monitor screen but still be viewed in the on-screen mini-map. Using the special WinSpace Map, you can see the whole virtual desktop and all your open windows arranged within the separate screens. You can switch from window to window without constant minimizing and maximizing, overlapping or hidden windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TIPWORLD'S TIP OF THE DAY http://www.tipworld.com This tip originally appeared on the TipWorld web site. And now for today's tip... BECAUSE DOSKEY REMEMBERS . . . One great DOS utility is Doskey. You turn on Doskey by typing its name during any DOS session. If you're in a DOS window and make a mistake typing a very long command, use Doskey to recall that command so you can fix your mistake. Press your keyboard's up arrow once to insert the most recently typed command (or use the up/down arrows to scroll through all the commands in Doskey's memory). Make your changes, press Enter, and you've saved yourself some typing! To view the commands in Doskey's memory, type the following at the command prompt ("h" stands for history): doskey /h ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INSIDE MICROSOFT WINDOWS 95 TIP OF THE WEEK The following tip is presented by INSIDE MICROSOFT WINDOWS 95, a monthly publication of The Cobb Group. For example, when working on a report in Microsoft Word, you decide to cut a paragraph. However, you may want to use that paragraph later in the document or even in another file. To create a scrap, select the text you wish to use and then drag it onto the desktop with the right mouse button. When you release the button, select the Move Scrap Here command from the context menu (dragging with the left mouse button will automatically copy the scrap). Now when you want to copy the scrap into a document, just drag it from the desktop into the text. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information on local events and promotions in your area http://microsoft.com/usa/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO JOIN THE MAILING LIST: You received this e-mail newsletter as a result of your registration on the Microsoft Personal Information Center.
